Chabad of Florida
Florida's 700,000 Jews have enjoyed the benefit of the Friends of Lubavitch of Florida's work for more than 39 years. The impact of these efforts is evident in the more than seventy institutions across the state.
New centers continue to mushroom across the coast.
The truly magnificent synagogue in Bal Harbour is emblematic of the success of Chabad-Lubavitch' s programs in Florida.
This $10 million edifice is one of the world's largest synagogues. But the work of Chabad-Lubavitch is also evident in its more day-to-day activities: day schools, summer camps and adult education programs abound.
Miami Beach is also home base to the Aleph institute, Lubavitch' s national network for Jewish prisoners.
The institute runs a Torah correspondence course and coordinates prisoner visits from shluchim nationwide.
Future plans in Florida call for the establishment of Chabad-Lubavitch centers in new locations, as well as the opening of more centers to focus on the need of new immigrant populations from Russia and Israel.
